Eastry WI

EASTRY WI...

...is a flourishing WI, with a membership of over 30, meeting on the first Wednesday of each month at 19:30 (not January) in the Village Hall, and has a reputation for warmth and friendliness. We host speakers on all sorts of subjects, some serious and thought provoking and others which are lighter hearted and reflect  the interests of our members. We also try to have one or two meetings each year where we try out crafts or activities that are new to some of us. Our meetings usually conclude with a social time and refreshments.  Members have the opportunity to take part in outings and events arranged both locally and wider afield.

We have a thriving CRAFT GROUP, which meets weekly in the Church Hall on Tuesday mornings 09:30-12:00. This group is open to anyone for a small charge which includes refreshments.  We work on a range of crafts, learning from each other by drawing on the talents within the group.

If you have recently moved into the village please do consider coming along to one of our meetings where you will receive a warm welcome. Many of our members have done just that and made many friends.

Our LUNCH CLUB meets monthly at local eateries and this again offers a chance to meet up, apart from the monthly meetings and is popular with members.

We go TEN PIN BOWLING on a monthly basis, sometimes afternoons, sometimes evenings so that members with varying commitments can go.

WALKING NETBALL takes place on Tuesday mornings 11.45 -12.45 at Northbourne Parke School. This is open to anybody who wishes to go, not just WI members.

We also hope that 2019 will see the return of our exhibition in the Village Hall date not yet decided.
