Cancer Research - "Race for Life" 2007

Cancer Research hold "Race for Life"

2,500 women took part in this year's "Race for Life" in Herne Bay on Sunday 15th July. Between them they raised a staggering £167,000 for this worthwhile charity.

With a "warm up" provided by local radio station Invicta FM the race began 15 minutes later than predicted at 11:15am with all competitors running, jogging or walking the 5km route; most completing the event in less than one hour.

Elizabeth Carr, wife of Parish Council Chairman David Carr, completed the course in 25 minutes raising approximately £200 for Cancer Research. Elizabeth wishes to thank those of you who contributed towards this total.

A very happy Elizabeth on completion of the event - complete with medal.

With grateful thanks to all those who took part; and in memory of all those who lost the fight...
