1. Peter Charles Luckhurst was sentenced on 11 April 2017 at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court.
He pleaded guilty to going equipped for theft, possession of heroin, possession of crack cocaine and two counts of shoplifting.
On 7 February 2017 the 38-year-old, of Edgar Road, Dover, stole a bottle of whiskey and a bottle of cognac worth £52 from a supermarket in Honeywood Parkway, Dover. He also had a quantity of diamorphine, a quantity of crack cocaine and wire cutters in his possession, for use in connection with theft.
On 4 April 2017 he stole meat worth £38.50 from the same supermarket.
Magistrates sentenced Luckhurst to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for a year. He must also pay £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.
2. David James Barrett was sentenced on 11 April 2017 at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court.
He pleaded guilty to burglary and fraud.
On 21 February 2017 the 34-year-old, of Colmanton Grove, Deal, falsely used someone else’s prescript ion at a pharmacy in St Richard’s Road, Deal, intending to obtain prescribed medication.
On 22 February 2017 he broke into a pharmacy in High Street, Deal, and stole perfumes and aftershaves worth an unknown amount.
Magistrates sentenced Barrett to 30 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months, and gave him a 16 week curfew to remain at home between 8pm and 6am daily. The curfew runs until 1 August 2017. He must also pay £85 costs and a £140 victim surcharge.
